I beg most respectfully and reluctantly to approach you, but force of circumstances compels me, in the hope that you may make representations to the Home Government which will result in their hearing a true proportion of the very serious and ever increasing hardship of the present time. Three years ago, after 30 years service in the Police & Sanitary Depts., I was retired by a Medical Board on account of ill health and came home with a young family of four. The passage money alone ate deeply into the little we were able to save.
A reference to my service record papers will show that through personal and family trouble in my last 10 years service, almost all our savings were eaten up.
